About us

Our masjid was established by purchasing an old public house with a notorious history in the former “red light” district of Bradford. The pub was having a negative impact on the local Muslim community due to alcohol use, rampant gambling, drug dealing and other anti-social activities.

The local community got together, purchased the building and started a Sunni Madrassa in 2010. Later it was made into a Sunni masjid responding to the views of the local community. Though the masjid is used mainly by Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Rohingya community members, it serves as one of the centres of the multi-cultural community in Manningham ward of Bradford.

We also try to get involved with the community by undertaking campaigns for community clean up, drug awareness and multi-faith work with other faith communities.

Our masjid is affiliated to Bradford’s Council for Mosques.

“We have been blessed with people who have contributed financially to the masjid, others have given time and advice and most of the local community is promoting the masjid by attending salat here. May Allah SWT accept their help and reward them in this life and hereafter.”
